What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I felt like my life was passing me by. I felt like I was just a bystander in my own life. I saw everyone around flourishing and able to do things I could only dream of. My weight held me back from the enjoyable things in life. I was ready to become an active player in my life.

How did you change your eating habits?
I have always been on some sort of diet my entire life. But my doctor recommended I get the sleeve so I can actually see results with my efforts. So I got the gastric sleeve on January 4, 2016.

What is your workout routine?
I have always been active and enjoy workout classes in my local community. I enjoy the dance workout classes mostly – Core and cardio.

How often did you work out?
I work out a minimum of 3 times per week.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 324 pounds. My current weight is 196 pounds. After being sleeved, I got down to 160 pounds, but that was too small for my frame.

I’ve had children since then and gained a lot back. I got up to 240 pounds. As of November 2022, I got serious about losing the pregnancy weight, and have lost close to 50 pounds!

  • I avoid carbs and try to eat as raw as possible.
  • I avoid fast food and overly processed foods.
  • I meal prep. My meals consist of lean protein and green vegetables.
  • I also eat a ton of plant-based proteins.
