Transformation of the Day: Neferti lost 45 pounds. She made practical changes to her eating habits and committed to a fitness routine that includes running, kettlebell workouts, and strength training. Self esteem was a key factor as well.
My name is Neferti, and this is my 3rd round of weight loss. I am down 45 pounds by making small changes daily and building upon that for personal strength and discipline. I swim, hike, jog and try to keep up an active lifestyle. The number one key to my weight loss was SELF ESTEEM.
How did you change your eating habits?
This time, I started by making small changes in my diet. I cut out fast food and quit putting heavy cream and sugar in my coffee in the mornings.
What is your workout routine?
I enjoy the challenge of running and do so three times a week, along with kettlebell work and strength training.
What keeps you motivated?
I am motivated completely by the changes I see happening pound by pound and by keeping my goal in mind.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 183 pounds, and I currently weigh 139 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’1”.
When did you begin your weight loss journey?
I started my journey in May 2021.
How long did your transformation take?
It has taken me 1.5 years THIS TIME to get to where I am today. As I said, this is my 3rd attempt at weight loss.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Weight loss surgery has not been part of my journey. I am proud to have found the courage and discipline to do it on my own.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The greatest lesson I learned is that I was resting on the excuses I was making for myself. When I addressed my mindset, the body responded.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My biggest advice for any woman at any age with any amount to lose is: Your effort must match the goal; Get after your transformation.
