What was your motivation?
My primary motivation was, and remains, to avoid the typical diseases deemed inevitable for people of color. I have an extensive family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. The catalyst was a doctor’s visit where my blood pressure was extremely high. At that moment, I vowed to make a change. I did not and do not want to have to be on medication for the balance of my days. I vowed to do EVERYTHING within my power to make it happen. 

Additionally, I wanted to be in better shape and comfortable within my own skin. I don’t want to be in good health or look good for my age. I want to be in good health and look good, PERIODT.

What inspired you to start your weight loss journey?
My sister told me about her experience with Fitness On Fire and how it helped her several years ago. She has maintained her weight loss and lives a healthy lifestyle. I went online, and the FOF transformations amazed me. This was my inspiration. 

How did you change your eating habits?
I follow the regimen provided by my online nutritionist, NutritionistGuru. Now I eat a lot of fruit, veggies, and lentils. I also cook a lot more than I did before starting this journey. 

What did you stop or start eating?
I stopped eating the whites: white bread, rice, potatoes, etc. I also cut out fried foods, cakes, and pies, which is hard because I love to bake.

What is your workout routine?
I followed the workout regimen provided by King of the Fire, my online trainer with Fitness on Fire Online Training. I typically work out five days a week. (There have been weeks when this did not happen, though.)

How long did your transformation take? 
I started noticing that I had a little “wiggle” room in my clothes around November 2022. However, on January 18, 2023 the reality of how much I have transformed hit me when an outfit I prepared for work fit me like a potato sack. It was at that moment I saw the transformation.

I believe the Fitness on Fire Online Training program works for me because of the personalized plan developed by the NutritionistGuru and my trainer, King of Fire, based on my goals and lifestyle. Both my nutritionist and trainer are supportive and encouraging. Also, the program is affordable and does not require special foods.  

What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
My best advice is to just do it. Stay focused and embrace the journey. Always keep YOUR why at the forefront of your mind. 

Trust the process, AND DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NAYSAYERS!! Put your “hater blockers” on and give them a reason to hate you.
