Bebe lost 67+ pounds | Black Weight Loss Success

Transformation of the Day: Bebe lost 67+ pounds with lots of cardio and healthy eating habits. She lost 100+ lbs, and she shared with us how she did it back in 2016/2017. After regaining weight, she decided to restart her journey using what she’s learned about what works for her.

I lost 129 pounds from 2016 to 2018, and I started feeling myself. I couldn’t believe I weighed 198 pounds, down from my starting weight of 327 pounds. I was so happy with the work I put in, so I started living my best life.

I started hanging out, going out with friends, and going on lunch/brunch dates. The next thing I knew, the weight started creeping back. I got back up to 250 lbs in late 2019-2020. By early 2021, I weighed 285 lbs.

I started to regain my focus and reignite my focus on what matters the most. The best thing I ever did was BELIEVE in myself!

It was very challenging for me when I started because I did it alone. I didn’t have a support system. No help! Nobody understood my struggle, and many never will. So I took the belief that I have in myself and used it to the best of my ability.

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation is my 5-year-old son. He is super active, and it’s a must that I stay on top of my health.

What inspired me to keep going was the changes I saw within myself and how I was able to help people around me lose weight. I even inspired people I’ve never met.

How did you change your eating habits?
After regaining the weight, I went back to what I knew best: Low carb diet and working out 3-5 days out the week. – Absolutely no rice, bread, pasta, juice, or soda. I strictly drink tea and have a gallon of water daily.

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
What helped me to get the weight off is CARDIO, CARDIO, CARDIO! Three times a week, I do 60 minutes (minimum) long sessions focused on cardio. Once I dropped 40 pounds, I started adding calisthenic exercises to my cardio workouts.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
This year I started at 285 pounds, and I currently weigh 218 pounds. -66lbs WOOT WOOT!! I’m my biggest cheerleader. My goal is to get down to 180 lbs. and maintain it. I’m still on my journey every day is a learning process.

What is your height?
I’m 5’10”.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned on this journey is not to compare someone’s day 500 to your day ONE. When you realize that your body is uniquely made and what works for others might not work for you, that’s when you will start making progress!

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Weight loss surgery is not a part of my journey. I have a friend who went that route, and they look and feel absolutely great. I say that to say this, “DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU! It’s your journey!”

What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
You can’t go into this thing just trying to get a flat stomach because that’s not happening unless you plan on getting up on a table and letting a doctor do it for you.

It will always come back to how bad you want it. How much are you willing to invest in yourself? Can you be dedicated and consistent? Can you be PATIENT? Can you be an individual and know that results will look different for everyone? Are you willing to do the WORK??

If how I feel could be expressed on Instagram, I can promise you that it would be much better than how I LOOK! This journey isn’t just about looks for me. It’s about my LIFE!! What you do in one area of your life shows up in other areas!

Change is scary. Growth hurts. This journey of mine was not easy! I felt alone many times while battling with my weight. However, The change started when I started to believe in myself! That’s the first step to truly transforming into your best self. Believe you can do anything you set your mind to!
