Easter is a time of remembrance of what Jesus did on the cross, and how He has triumphed over sin and death! Through Jesus we have found both hope and redemption, which we can celebrate in this life, and will get to experience in eternity.

1. Matthew 28:6 – He Has Risen

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

2. Luke 24:6-7 – Crucified and On the Third Day Rise Again

Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: “The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.”

3. John 11:25-26 – He is the Resurrection and the Life 

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

4. Romans 10:9 – Believe in Your Heart That God Raised Him From the Dead

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

5. 1 Corinthians 15:4 – He Was Buried and Raised On the Third Day

He was buried, and he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, ‘Here is the man!’ As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, ‘Crucify! Crucify!’ But Pilate answered, ‘You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.

23. Mark 15:29-32 – He Was Ridiculed and Insulted 

People walking by insulted him, shaking their heads and saying, ‘Ha! So you were going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, were you? Save yourself and come down from that cross!’ 

In the same way, the chief priests were making fun of him among themselves, together with the legal experts. ‘He saved others,’ they said, ‘but he can’t save himself. Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down from the cross. Then we’ll see and believe.’ Even those who had been crucified with Jesus insulted him.

24. Luke 23:46-47 – He Committed His Spirit Into the Father’s Hands

Jesus called out with a loud voice, ‘Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.’ When he had said this, he breathed his last. The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, ‘Surely this was a righteous man. 

25. John 19:18 – They Crucified Him with Two Others 

There they crucified Him, and with Him two other men, one on either side, and Jesus in between.

26. Mark 15:46-47 – Jesus’ Body Laid In A Tomb 

So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where he was laid.”

27. Matthew 16:24 – Deny Yourself, Take Up Your Cross and Follow Him

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.”

28. Acts 5:30 – God Raised Up Jesus 

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross.

29. Mark 16:5-7 – He Has Risen, He Is Not Here

As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. ‘Don’t be alarmed,’ he said. ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. 

He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, “He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.

30. Luke 24:2-3 – The Empty Tomb 

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

31. Mark 16:1-4 – The Stone Is Rolled Away 

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, ‘Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?’ But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.
